Sculptor
Noelle d'Aboville
Noelle was born in 1970 in a family of artists with her father a painter and grand-father a poet. Based in Paris and originally a lawyer, her lifelong passion for visual expression crystallised when she moved to Buenos Aires. There, she immersed herself in intensive painting studies at the Marcela Boubeau de Sacondigné Studio. However, it was her relocation to London for over two decades and her formative training at the historic Heatherley School of Art that ignited her definitive shift into sculpture. True to Parisian chic, Noelle's human portraits, acrobats and body movements have a natural, sensual presence. To capture the essence of life, her work is deeply rooted in the observation of both the human figure and the animal kingdom. Her animal series translate the spirit of subjects like lions and dogs into striking physical presences. While her creative process explores a diverse range of textures and mediums, the ultimate form for many of her art pieces is bronze.
"For the creator must be a world for himself and must find everything in himself and in Nature, to whom his whole life is devoted" - Rainer Maria Rilke, Letter to a Young Poet
